Hey, so a few people could possibly get crushed to death by deadly chunks of ice. But that’s a small price to pay for nice, clean wind-powered electricity! Which will be used to power the 24-hour televisions that will be the only entertainment available to the remainder of the population, safe in their concrete-lined underground bunkers.

You know what Stephen Green would call that: an ice dispenser.

I’d also be concerned about what happens if the ice doesn’t fall off. Those babies have to be very carefully balanced. A chunk of ice stuck on the end of one blade could see the whole thing vibrate itself off the tower and into your back yard.
Anyway, why aren’t the locals doing something about it? Angle grinders are cheap. Couple of well placed nicks in the base, fill in with putty and paint over with metallic effect paint. One or two wind storms later and it’s timBER!
