Mine still aren’t working. I got back from the doctor a little while ago — I gave him seventy bucks to tell me that yes, my ear is plugged up with wax, but no, I don’t have an infection. So there is one thing I don’t have to worry about. He gave me a referral to an ear, nose, and throat specialist, but since I don’t have insurance he advised me to give the ear-wax removal stuff another try. I’ve been doing that — I did get a little bit out, but not enough to unplug me. If a few days of wax-removal stuff doesn’t work, I guess my next step is to make an appointment with the specialist and find out how many limbs and pints of blood I have to sell.

It is extraordinarily obnoxious that he didn’t unstop your ear himself, or have one of the 14 assistants in the office do it. Were I you, that bill would most definitely go to the bottom of the stack–had I not had to pay upfront. Unbelievable, really.

Eh. That’s the way they seem to do things now — everything’s done by a specialist including removing corns but you have to get a referral from your primary care physician. I hardly ever go to the doctor so it’s not like I have huge medical bills hanging over me. But I really need to get some insurance. Which means I need to get a permanent job, or else buy my own. Either way money will come out of my pocket.

Seriously, try these: (I’m guessing you didn’t see the comment on 10/8)
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup glycerine
1 cup sterile water
Mix well in sterile container until clear.Store in sterile dropper bottle.
We regarded the glycerine and sterility as optional, since we didn’t try to store the mixture.
The baking soda fizzes, but it really seems to also dissolve the wax.
Hope it helps!

Thanks — I did see the comment, I filed it away for a trial… I’m seeing how things go with the stuff I already have. (Since I paid money for it, I might as well use it up.)

D’you suppose Solantic does such things? I really like their ‘model’ of “here’s what we do for this flat fee, here’s what we do for a bit more, & here’s what we do for the most money.” Nothing too elaborate or extensive, not emergency care, but no appt or anything.

Walk-in urgent care clinics – there’s one on Kinsgpointe Parkway in Orlando…Orange Park has 3 urgent care clinics next to each other near the hospital, but Solantic is the only name I remember. http://www.solantic.com
