Can someone explain to me Hollywood’s obsession with Richard Nixon? Because I just don’t get it. He wasn’t very photogenic, certainly wasn’t sexy, and let’s face it, for a scandal Watergate was pretty darn mundane.

He was their finest hour — the day the music died (in a good way). Their side brought down a “bad guy” president.
They’ve been trying to relive those heady days ever since, and that’s why everything from outright treason and mass murder on down to hacking a Yahoo e-mail account MUST be accorded a “-gate” suffix.
Also, Nixon Derangement Syndrome is obviously the original vector for the many different xDS maladies flying around nowadays.

Yep, the lefties brought down a sitting president. Journalism schools were suddenly jammed full of long haired bright eyed kids ‘wanting to change the world’ instead of report the news. Open any soon-to-be-closed newspaper today and scan the results of that little by-product. Don’t bother to read, mind you, because they didn’t learn to write. They’re just waiting in line, with hope for change.
