Oh God, apparently Ted Kennedy has been rushed to the hospital. I hope it’s nothing worse than an impacted ham sandwich, because I don’t think I could take the All-Kennedy-All-The-Time worship-fest that the media will indulge in if it turns out to be more serious.
Update: exactly.

The Kennedys are a living example of the DNC leftards inborn desire to reestablish a true hereditary aristocracy here in the US.
That alone should get him and his clan hoisted till they quit kicking.
OT but I do like that new fangled gizmo at the betrayingly new Tim’s blog where we can reply directly to the post that we’re aiming at. That makes the little side convos flow much better.

Not looking forward to the adoration afterwards, but it’d be better than having the scumbucket still trying to get us all killed while he sucks up to & protects our enemies & pisses all over the Constitution in the name of “public service.”
It’s not that I wish him ill…but don’t wish him well. I kinda hope he dies. Slowly. Soon.

Actually, I also like that reply-to-comment function. I might see if there’s a version for WordPress for my own blog.

I think Bill Buckley one time wrote that it might be salutary for the health of our country to just declare the Kennedy’s royalty, let them enjoy all the pomp and circumstance that goes with it, but completely remove them from any governing role.
By the way, with respect to the update: perfect!

I’m with KC; I don’t wish him ill, I just wish he’d just STFU. Maybe he’ll retire to the family estate, and spend the rest of his life with an IV connected to a bottle of cheap gin.

There was a British documentary several years ago positing that Kennedy gave the girl his car keys for her to drive home herself, because he wanted to stay longer. She was drunk and unfamiliar with the area and so the final result couldn’t have been unsuspected.
It’s actually a more damaging allegation, and the Kennedy story of bravely diving to try and save her life is seen as an attempt at mitigation.
They made a pretty good case.

It was disconcerting, immediately on the heels of the announcement that he had gone to the hospital, to hear the media go into full court eulogy mode. It suuggested very strongly that he wasn’t expected to come out.
I don’t wish him ill, I just wish that he and his odious family would leave public life. We’ve suffered enough from those thugs. I had no problem with JFK Jr, but it wasn’t until his death that I found out that somebody had anointed him “America’s Prince.”
Oh, really? I don’t remember the election where we picked our royalty. Nobody asked me who should be prince (perhaps because I make no secret of my conviction that royalty are quaint and amusing and make a fine tourist attraction, for other countries – had I known we were installing some ourselves I would have taken to the streets, armed).
I seldom watch network TV but even still it’s going to be hard keeping away from the Kennedy-fest the MSM is gearing up to dump on us. How long before the leftards start looking for the Bush-Cheney hand in Ted’s departure?

I lived through that era, and have probably heard every way the facts can be twisted, and every explanation, and excuse concocted. But they behave the way all politicians do.. the public has a short memory, and most forget, or paid very little attention to it all, as tomorrow has a new ‘crisis’, ‘tragedy’ or moral ‘slip’

As I’ve seen somewhere else (Taranto?), Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment…

Brett: I don’t think Kennedy ever denied that he drove the car. And I believe the first person he called was his lawyer (i.e., not fire/rescue, not the police).

Once a dirtbag, always a dirtbag – which does not mean I wish him ill.
At least this might get the US MSM’s endless public fellation of Hussein off the news for a nano-second.
Hey, a question to my US cousins.
The African government rated Hussein’s dad as an Arab Kenyan.
SO how the fuck does he get off calling himself an blackfella. Is he lying out of malice, or is he just lying out of opportunity? And why does it actually matter? Is the black population in the US sufficiently racist that they’ll just vote for the ‘black guy’ just because of his skin colour?

Paco: Because to admit that he had let the girl drive herself home in his car, while under the influence, on unfamiliar roads would have been worse.
It was late the next day before Kennedy’s story surfaced. Plenty of time to come up with a less egregious spin.
It’s not a silly interpretation, as conspiracy theories go.

Please let’s not reiterate Kennedy conspiracy theories here — about any of the Kennedys.

I’m afraid so, Mark. At least that segment that votes the Democratic ticket.
Same thing for the feminists in the Democratic ranks; they cheer for Hillary because of her gender, period.
It’s what some people call “identity politics”, but I think of politically condoned prejudice and bigotry.

Well bugger me senseless with a red-hot chainsaw.
TRJ, I thought that the left (I include feminazi’s in that vile slew) was so low that they could skydive from a snake’s arsehole and freefall for 30 minutes before having to hit the silk.
Guess I was wrong.
It’s an hour of freefall…..

You’ve got a good point, there, Andrea. It seems like every significant episode in the life (and death) of every Kennedy is enveloped in a fog of fruitless speculation.
