Laibach is awesome.
This musical interlude has been brought to you by my brain, which is currently on hiatus. Regular broadcasting from my brain will resume shortly.

Now that’s disturbing…..

Now try “Let It Be”, for far better versions of Beatles songs.

You mean like this version?
Truly, that song isn’t one of my favorites, you can do anything you want to it and that’ll be all right with me. How about a Chinese pop muzak version? I could swear I heard it the last time I was in a Chinese restaurant.

Well, actually I meant from Laibach’s cover of the entire album except for the title song (like this).
Their version of “One after 909” is also thoroughly superior to the Beatles’ version, but is not on YouTube, since I don’t think they made a video for it.
Also, their version of Get Back (just the music over an album cover shot).

Good Lord, does David Lynch do music videos? That’s nearly Twin Peaksian… needs a red suited dwarf dancing, though.
Mind you, nearly every music video needs a red suited dwarf dancing.

Many things are better with dancing dwarfs. Not everything, mind you — just many things.

For example, this is not one of the things that is better with dancing dwarfs.

Okay, that’s actually either an early cut of Spinal Tap’s video for Stonehenge, or an outtake from TIme Bandits.
Although… if anyone (is Peter Jackson busy right now?) is filming a Terry Pratchett Discworld novel, I’d say that’s from Lords and Ladies. It’s definitely set in Lancre, although doesn’t appear to have the witches in it anywhere.

You know, I have to say I kind of like that video… I’ve watched it three times now. The song always made me laugh, and this just adds to the fun (what? don’t tell me people think the song’s serious?)
Incidentally, I’d never heard of Laibach before, so I checked them out on Amazon. An entire album of Sympathy for the Devil covers by one band? You’re not shittin’ me? Okay, that just went on the wish list.
