One explanation for the boring here

I feel the same way. My tolerance for politics is always very low, and I’m just burnt out on the subject. For those who still care, the FBI actually arrested the governor of Illinois because basically he was a criminal. Or at least that’s how he’d be described if he were a Republican. Still, the Democrats can’t seem to find a way to spin Blago-whatever’s out-Nixoning of Nixon so they’re trying to replace the matter in the national mind with other subjects. Corruption, thuggish threats, and graft? Who cares — we’ve got fantasy global warming dragons to slay!

Let’s see… Blagojevich is, um, “passionate” about ensuring the marginalized voices are heard and that every American gets a fair chance. And sometimes he gets, er, “impatient” with restrictive and complex regulations, which at times seem as if they’re nothing more than obstacles placed in the way of minorities who – sorry, I mean minorities and women, who only want the same opportunities other more fortunate Americans receive. And so, because he cares so deeply, he sometimes, ah… cuts through the red tape to make sure citizens are not overlooked, and thus a narrow and legalistic mind focused solely upon the letter of the law and not its spirit, might jump to the unwarranted and partisan conclusion that some sort of crime has occurred, when nothing could be further from the truth.

And I for one am tired of the same old name calling and blame game when what Americans really want is to move on past the old politics.

Whaddaya think? Too wordy? Abstract? Maybe so… try this one out:

“This is not the Rod Blagojevich I knew…”

Actually, my own reaction was pretty much “Huh. So what?”

We already had the election and demonstrated that we don’t give a shit about this stuff. So screw it. All I ask of our pols is that they keep on handing out sacks of money extorted from me to incompetent and corrupt jokers and stop pestering me.

LikeI said over on Vodkapundit, the best way I can think of to improve Illinois politics is to go back in time to 1871 or whenever it was, and lock the fire engines in their garages so they can’t put out that damn fire.

My wife says ol’ Honest Abe must be spinning in his grave. I wonder what history would look like if he and his folks had stayed in Kentucky, or settled in Indiana instead.
