Hardware

Not that I'm going all Steve H. or anything, but after struggling to assemble the barstool I bought at Ikea with my cheap tools, and only succeeding in stripping the points of both my dollar store screwdrivers, I broke down and went to Home Depot today and bought an electric screwdriver with five interchangeable bits. It's charging up now.

Later I will buy a drill. And that's it. Honest.

Good tools are an investment. Buy good ones the first time & I won't have to buy 'em again. Yup, you guessed it, I learned the hard way. I now have the same set of screwdrivers I've had for nearly 10 years.

Does IKEA have kitchen table & chairs? I may be in the market after the first of the year.

O yes, they have kitchen tables and chairs. Enough to make me wish I had a kitchen big enough for tables and chairs.

I'm going to check 'em out, thanks. I have a tiny little kitchen & a dining room that's about to get even smaller - a new hutch, then creating a new built-in sideboard/buffet. Gonna be rustic, but I really need the extra space. Then I may not have room for my rectangular table w/4 chairs, so I'm looking for something round, a pedestal I hope, & I can make do with 2 chairs most days with spares in another room if necessary.

Good Lord, I'm not even sure if this is on-topic. But I have a one-track mind when it comes to redoing my stuff...which is my replacement for a move every three years! So thanks for letting me blather. And the table comes AFTER the kids get their own place, now that Lovely Daughter has a good position with a tax-prep place.

Check out www.ikea.com (pick the United States link) for some ideas. They don't have everything online, but you can get a good idea of what they have.
