The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has gone completely nuts:
THE (sic) Archbishop of Canterbury has said that the United States wields its power in a way that is worse than Britain during its imperial heyday.
I mean, that's really bringing the crazy. I've cracked a history book or two, and I'm pretty sure that the British Empire left anything we've ever done in the dust. Then again, maybe I'm wrong -- maybe we're just waiting for the final design to be approved for King George W. Bush II's crown. I don't follow politics much these days.

“Our modern western definition of humanity is clearly not working very well. There is something about western modernity which really does eat away at the soul.”
This bozo sounds like he is preaching from the Quran. In fact, he looks like an Imam.

My ancestors on my mother's side of the family came to the US from Ireland. I have no time for the IRA, but the only difference between the IRA and the Black and Tans was the objective. In addition, going back farthere, the Brits continued to EXPORT food from Ireland for a short time during the Potato Famine. The Brits deliberately attempted to whipe out the Irish culture and language.
The fact that the Archbishop considers this better than what the US is doing in Iraq speaks volumes about his ignorance of Brittish history and/or his distorted view of the US.
