Heck, if I don't get out of bed promptly both my cats start nipping at my flesh. (The orange one used to punch me in the nose if I slept late.)

I'll bet that you feed the cats in the morning.
If you feed them at another time, they don't have any reason to get you up in the morning.

When I'm sick, even if I insist I'm not, the Queen spends her time with me. She was at my side (or feet) all day Tuesday. I felt pretty crummy all day & somehow she knew it even though I told everyone I was "fine."
